SATC or Sex and the City

I saw the movie! Did YOU?

I don’t know what I’m writing yet, so don’t read ahead if you haven’t seen the movie and are afraid of spoilers. You’ve been warned!

Sex and the City. Watching the movie was a feast for the eyes and the heart. A wonderful juicy, meaty, and sweet feast! Full of flavor! It felt like seeing a very close friend that I hadn’t seen in awhile. It was wonderful to catch up and share their lives again for two and a half hours. They’ve grown older, I’ve grown older too. It’s okay with them, it’s okay with me. Life is still fabulous~friends are still important and there for you when you need them.

Watching the series was like hanging out with your girlfriends. I don’t have the fashions, but I certainly have the friends! I have a Samantha, and a Miranda, and a Charlotte. And in turn, I’ve been a Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte at different points of my life. I think that’s why we relate to and love these characters so much. That’s why the series had such a following. We relate to these women. We are these women. They are us, maybe a little better dressed and accesorized, but none the less, us.

I think I teared up at least four times during the movie. Two of them produced actual tears. Maybe three. I laughed as well though. And cheered. Happy, sad, down, up. Just so you know…it ends on an up.

The theme of the movie was forgiveness. It explored it. How can you forgive one person after three days, and another person is still unforgiveable to you after six months. Isn’t forgiveness forgiveness no matter how large or small the offense? In the end all is forgiven.
